Missions Update – August 2024

Monthly Missions Update
August 2024
Volume 1, Issue 7

Hello Morning Star Family,
Here are some important happenings in August for our Local and Global partners. These are all things you and your family, friends or Life Group can take part in together. Thank you for praying and partnering with what God is doing in our community!

Reid Saunders – The team and I are preparing for our upcoming outreach to Thailand this weekend! This is going to be a unique and memorable time of ministry as we will be proclaiming the Gospel over seven festival nights in three different locations! In addition to the festivals, our team will participate in street evangelism and share the Good News on college campuses.

I’m thrilled to share with you that the first cohort of evangelists from RSA’s Evangelist Equipping program, Peter, Daniel, and Danny, will be joining us on this outreach. These three will complete the pilot program this summer and each of them will have the opportunity to share the Gospel and put into practice what they have learned!

Please pray for our team, as well as the churches and ministries across Thailand. Ruth Daniels and her team visited earlier this summer and shared that this region is a challenging environment with prevalent prostitution, alcoholism, and drug addiction. Below is a list of our specific prayer requests I invite you to pray over.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

  1. That our team would be “perfectly united in mind and thought” (1 Corinthians 1:10)
  2. Protection from the spiritual forces in areas known for vice, licentiousness, and darkness
  3. Good weather, since all the festivals are outside and in a tropical environment
  4. That the local church leaders continue encouraging their people to pray and bring friends to the festivals
  5. The band members’ travel and personal needs
  6. That the Lord would be working to bring a clear and salient call, so “all who call on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13)
  7. Health for the team, as there are lots of unfamiliar foods and a climate unlike the Pacific Northwest
  8. Our Evangelist Equipping Program students, Peter, Daniel, and Danny, who will be preaching the Gospel

I also have the honor of being the featured speaker at a Pastor’s Leadership Conference on Thursday, August 8, and appreciate your prayers! I will keep you updated throughout our time ministering on this outreach and invite you to follow along on social media for extra behind-the-scenes updates and photos.

All for Jesus! – Reid

We train pastors and local leaders- equipping them with the necessary tools to
deploy into their communities- and share the love of Christ in their spheres of influence. Each stop consists of workshop-style conferences, evangelistic outreaches, and humanitarian aid efforts. Our hope is to disciple those called to the work of evangelism, who desire further guidance and know-how, as they prepare to embark on a global endeavor of reaching souls for Christ in our day and age. They will be in Kenya August 2-10, Xela Guatemala August 22-24, Seoul Korea September 21-25, and Iquitos Peru October 10-12.

In addition to equipping Pastors and Leaders, speaking in local churches and an evangelistic event where we share The Good News, there will also be a humanitarian aid impact opportunity where our team will provide pre-filled bags of food that will feed a family of five for one week!
