WORSHIP DIRECTOR // MIDDLE SCHOOL ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

I grew up in a home that really valued worshipping as a family. We spent many nights around the piano singing, which fostered a love of music and adoration of Jesus. I served for many years on the worship team at Morning Star before interning as the middle school worship leader. I interned for three years and developed a love and respect for middle schoolers. I believe middle and high school students are a valuable part of our church and have so much to offer! Middle school is full of change, big feelings, and tough questions. It’s been an absolute privilege to lead students in worship as well as form meaningful relationships built on Christ-centered conversations.

Working with middle schoolers has brought an incredible amount of joy and laughter to my life, and I’ve been so impressed by their questions about God and what living in His kingdom looks like. As my internship progressed I began teaching as well as leading worship, another passion I’ve had for many years. Teaching and leading worship regularly were things I did to serve the Lord and His children, and the more I did it, the more He ministered to me through it. I can’t say how many times I’ve walked onto the stage with a heavy heart and left feeling lighter. God has been so kind to me!

Teaching sparked a deep love for God’s Word; where there was once confusion and fear, there is now wonder and excitement to study scripture. My heart’s desire is to know God more and to share my love of scripture with middle schoolers.

I recently transitioned into the Worship Director role, one that I am humbled and thankful to carry. I believe that worshipping is an essential discipline to our faith, and engaging in worship with other believers is a privilege and gift! To lead a ministry that has invested so much into me and taught me about the heart of worship is so surreal.

I married my high school sweetheart Tyler in 2023, and we have done ministry alongside each other for several years now. We love serving students together and sharing cozy nights at home.

As the Middle School Assistant Director and the Worship Director, I wear a lot of hats, which make my Sunday mornings full in the best way. If you’re looking for me, head to the South Auditorium; if I’m not there, I’m probably on my way there so stick around and I’m sure I’ll bump into you!
