Hello Parents!
I’m thrilled to announce that we have hired Daniel Bennett to lead and shepherd our middle school ministry here at Morning Star.
Daniel is a graduate of Corban University with a degree in Theology and is now finishing the final semester of his Master’s of Divinity. Daniel has been involved in the leadership of middle school youth ministry programs for nearly seven years. He has also been an RA for three years on the Corban student life team.
Daniel has a heart for Jesus and a passion for middle school ministry. He loves middle schoolers and is excited to help them find their identity in Christ alone. He also wants to be present for your students in times of hardships, loss, or trauma.
He and his fiancé Maya are from the State of Washington, where he was born and raised alongside his two sisters. Daniel and Maya will be getting married this summer. She is a fantastic middle school educator who just received her Master’s in Education and plans to become a teacher in the Salem-Keizer School District. (Daniel loves her very much and can’t help but smile when he talks about her!)
Daniel’s main hobby is games of any variety; board, video, card, or active games. He also loves teaching others how to play them. Outside of middle school ministry, his three most impactful endeavors were his years as a competitive gymnast and gym coach, his experience as a trained choral and jazz vocalist, and his ten plus years of barista experience.
Daniel will be introduced to the students tonight at Highlife and to the church family on March 12th. You also might see him helping out at the garage sale this weekend. Feel free to introduce yourself and help him feel welcome. He’s so excited to meet each of you. Thank you!
