Hello Morning Star Family,

What a year it’s been! God has shown us so much opportunity to trust Him as we lead people to pursue a Jesus-first life! The new addition of Scott and Christian as Global Partners, as well as Salem For Refugees and Salem Free Clinics as Local Partners has opened new doors to ministry and sharing the love of Jesus that we didn’t have before. We’ve hosted three different Global partners for Q&A lunches throughout this year so you can get to know them better. We’re just wrapping up A Season of Giving as we tangibly care for refugees who are internationally, nationally, and locally recognized as valuable members of our society. What’s in store for the rest of 2024 and the beginning of 2025? Check below to see and get on board with what God is doing.

Salem for Refugees – Season of Giving

Imagine arriving in a new country with almost nothing. That’s the reality for many refugees coming to Salem. Thankfully, Salem for Refugees (SFR) is there to help them get back on their feet. They do way more than just the basics – they help families find housing, jobs, and even offer English classes; but one of the coolest things they do is provide “Restart Kits.” These kits are like a welcome gift filled with all the essential things a family needs to set up their new home – items like kitchenware, bedding, towels, and cleaning supplies. It’s a simple but powerful way to say, “You’re home now, and we’re here to support you.” During the holidays, they ramp things up with their Season of Giving project, where people can donate items or money to help make sure every family gets a fresh start. It’s really an honor to partner with Salem For Refugees and build Restart Kits.

Reid Saunders – Vietnam Christmas 2024 and

February 2025

 
Reid Saunders Association (RSA) is heading back to Vietnam this Christmas! They’ve been sharing the Gospel there for six years, and now they’re partnering with 200 churches to host massive Christmas festivals in Hanoi and Ca Mau. They’re even planning a special outreach for women and a lunch for government officials. In February, they’ll take the celebration to Ho Chi Minh City! To make it all happen, they need to raise $90,000, and a generous donor has offered to match every dollar given by October 31, up to $45,000. They’re asking for prayers and financial support to make these festivals the biggest celebrations of Jesus Vietnam has ever seen! You can give online using the link below.

Mike Silva International – Year End Update

 
Through many ups and some heartbreaking downs, God has shown His faithfulness to the Silva family and ministry this year. We can celebrate God’s goodness even in hard times! We pray you are encouraged as you hear the update below about how the Lord was working through the celebration of life for Mike and Crystal’s daughter, Jenna, as she went to be with the Lord. The upcoming ministry in 2025 is exciting so please be in prayer for what is to come!

Catalyze Salem – April 4-6, 2025

 
Catalyze is an exciting weekend intensive designed to equip and inspire believers interested in reaching Muslims with the Gospel. Hosted by Frontiers leadership and staff, this event offers a unique opportunity to learn about God’s work in the Muslim world and gain practical missional skills applicable anywhere. Through dynamic sessions and engaging discussions, participants will discover how to effectively share their faith with Muslims and connect with others who are passionate about this mission. Morning Star Community Church will be hosting Catalyze Salem in April 2025! We will have people here from throughout the Willamette Valley, learning alongside each other how we can share Jesus with Muslims. This is a fantastic chance to be part of this impactful event right here in our community. You can get more info and register below!
